What We Offer

Before we set up the Ross on Wye Horizon Centre, we spoke to potential service users, asking what they would like to do at the centre. We also spoke with families, carers, local organisations and professionals to guage the level of interest in such a service as well as to identify opportunities for community involvement.

Weʼre raising £1,000 to provide a much needed day centre for adults with learning and other disabilities in Ross on Wye, Herefordshire and the surrounding area. Please show your support here

These conversations formed the basis for developing the activities we offer which include:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Woodworking
  • Gardening
  • Music
  • IT skills
  • Walking and exercise
  • Healthy eating and well-being
  • Social events
  • Coffee mornings
  • Participation in local events
  • Selling crafts and other items at the local market

We also offer new opportunities, especially in the local community and will ‘go the extra mile’ to help long-held dreams come true if we can. From afternoon teas, pajama parties and live country music to attending sporting events and being a ‘shopkeeper for a day’, we believe that ‘our smallness is our strength’, allowing us to be more flexible and innovative in order to deliver an excellent service.

The Horizon Centre is also a marvellous venue, providing us with the opportunity to offer short courses, coffee mornings and support services to local residents.  This fits with our vision of ‘local services bringing communities together’.
